What do you do at VOYlegal?
I specialize in lateral partner, practice group, and associate placements with elite AmLaw 200, regional, and boutique law firms nationwide. I am local to Austin, Texas, and given my long ties to the state as both a legal recruiter and practicing attorney, I oversee our partner and associate recruiting efforts in the major Texas markets. I also regularly represent VOYlegal at several well-known legal conferences and participate in industry discussion panels and webinars. What is your professional background? I attended law school in New Orleans, and practiced for five years in Houston with a respected transactional energy/oil and gas boutique. Prior to joining VOYlegal, I was a recruiting manager for one of the largest professional and executive search firms in the world, where I specialized in the placement of high-level legal professionals within top law firms and in-house legal departments. What makes VOY different from other search firms?The things that make VOYlegal different from other search firms are exactly what drew me to the company. At VOY, I have a lot of freedom--to work remotely, to operate outside of strictly defined market boundaries, to grow and tailor my career to my own strengths and goals. We are professionals here at VOY, and we are treated like professionals. Although we value healthy internal competition, we don't saturate markets with recruiters to the point that everyone is constantly competing for their own tiny piece. We operate as a team and believe collegiality and collaboration are paramount to success and quality-of-life.
Another thing that I love about VOY is the technology that we have at our disposal. Many other agencies use bloated CRM software that is difficult to navigate and full of useless features. Here at VOY we built our database from the ground up and tailored it specifically to what we do. Out platform is intuitive, and the data it offers is truly second-to-none.

What do you do at VOYlegal?
I am a regional director, which means, that in addition to recruiting and placing VOYlegal members into positions across the U.S., I also am responsible for trying to grow VOYlegal's reputation/brand among clients in the South.
Where do you work? I work mostly from my home, but occasionally will take things "on the move" for a change of scenery (or if required by things going on in my life). There are times when I may be on the phone with candidates or clients between running errands, or sending emails from my "mobile office" (aka, my parked car) if I need to be running errands. So, I have a lot of flexibility -- but mostly I work from the comfort of my home office.
What is your professional background? I was in banking for 5 years before I went to law school (investment banking and corporate banking with Bank of America and Wachovia). Following law school, I stayed on the transactional side of things and became a Corporate Associate in Atlanta (working for Troutman Sanders and then King & Spalding). I ultimately went in-house to work for a client (a public company that is a builder of single family homes), but really felt that I was not truly fulfilled by my practice. I chose to leave practice in order to find something that resonated more with me, and really was more conducive to spending time with my husband (and family).
What makes VOYlegal different from other search firms? A few things, but those that really stick out for me are: (1) market placement flexibility - our ability to place candidates in ANY market in the U.S. -- you are not limited simply by where you sit or where your candidates sit (I move people across markets ALL the time); (2) physical location flexibility - I don't have to sit in a cubicle in a big office to get my job done, and this honestly helps my productivity (all of my teammates are easily accessible via phone, hangouts, etc.).; and (3) our cutting edge approach to aggregating information about VOY members and the market.
What’s your plan for the future? I am focused on trying to help VOYlegal really build out our team in the South as well as working to grow name/brand recognition for the company across the region. Beyond continuing to grow with VOY, I am very happy recruiting and believe I will stay in this career (and with this company) for a long time.

What do you do at VOYlegal?
I specialize in lateral associate, counsel, partner and practice group placements at firms of all sizes nationwide. My primary focus geographically is in all major West Coast markets.
What is your professional background?I received my bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin and went on to complete my law degree at the University of Alabama. I returned to Austin, where I practiced law for a few years in the criminal defense space, before moving to Los Angeles for a change of scenery and becoming a legal recruiter!
What makes VOYlegal different from other search firms?A smaller team with a greater focus on candidate and client relationships. At VOY, we’re focused on providing quality service to anyone we interact with and providing consistent feedback and updates to make the process smoother and more enjoyable during every step!
What’s your plan for the future?My plan for the future is to continue expanding our presence in the West Coast lateral market and making VOY a trusted figure in the industry for the work we do and the service we provide. I also plan to increase the work we do with companies for in-house roles, as those positions are consistently desired by candidates I work with.
